The stuff I see

I’ve been doing this job for over two years now and I can tell you I’ve seen some stuff. I’ve seen the grit and grime and the polish and shine of Preston. I’ve taken millionaires to mansions and drug addicts to crack houses. I’ve had six or seven non payers, and I’ve taxied quite a few football players. I’ve had one indecent proposal that took me by shock; but being a married man, I said, “I’m afraid not”. I’ve had the cab kicked, punched, shook and eggs chucked. It’s been bottled too just for fun, and not to mention being shot with a paintball gun. I’ve seen dozens of fights, beatings and the odd kick to the head. But this stuff is a rarity, as most fares are people who just want to go home to their bed.
